Posted: 28 Nov 2013 06:23 PM PST The Moto G might not be the best device in the world, but for less than $200 there are sure to be a lot of people who will find it hard to resist picking one up. So just how easy will it be to tinker with this 10th wonder of the world? Pretty darn easy, if these instructions for rooting and unlocking its bootloader at Modaco are anything to go by. Paul O’Brien comes through with the downloads and method needed to get going. It’ll require an unlocked bootloader, though that should be no tough task so long as you know your way around fastboot. You can find everything you need at the source link, but remember to read through the entirety of the instructions before embarking on your quest to free the Moto G’s chains, and remember that thermonuclear war, black hole occurrences, or any other unfortunate incidents as a result of doing this is no one’s responsibility but your own. AT&T Galaxy S4′s Android 4.3 upgrade resumes rolling out; Galaxy Gear update going out, too Posted: 28 Nov 2013 11:54 AM PST AT&T was one of the first carriers to get Android 4.3 for the Samsung Galaxy S4, which meant it was also the first carrier to notice a big issue with the OTA upgrade. The carrier had to suspend rollouts until Samsung got the issue fixed, but they’re starting to roll it back out now that things are all keen and peachy. This upgrade will bring the premium suite features all other 4.3 Samsung devices have gotten, including improved camera features, Samsung Knox security and more. Alongside all that is also Samsung Galaxy Gear smart watch compatibility. It’s worth noting that the Samsung Galaxy Gear is also getting an upgrade that will improve Smart Relay functionality (seeing a notification on the watch and opening the corresponding notification on your device), as well as the ability to view full notifications for all apps without having to defer to your device. AT&T has all the details about what you need to get the upgrade right here, so be sure to check that link out in case you need a bit of help. |

Happy Thanksgiving from Phandroid! Posted: 28 Nov 2013 05:00 AM PST It’s that time of year again, folks — the time where you eat a ton of food, pass out, and then wake up at the crack of dawn to stand in cold lines and save big money on big gifts for the upcoming Christmas season. I could only be talking about Thanksgiving, the day that turkeys loathe (no matter how happy they look in those grocery store sales ads in the days leading up). On behalf of everyone at Phandroid, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, and hope you guys will take some time today to truly enjoy yourself, your family, and whatever other company you might be around. And try not to open your mom’s new Nexus 7 and play with it before you put it under the Christmas tree this year — that’s just rude. Adieu! |
